The Spring 2026 Release introduces new analysis tools, expanded motion capture integrations, and workflow enhancements across MR4. This update adds application-specific capabilities such as 4-sensor golf swing analysis, expanded horizontal jump and cutting assessments, and MANUS glove integration for detailed hand and finger motion capture.

4-Sensor Golf Swing Analysis

Simplified Golf Swing Analysis with Automated Event Detection

MR now includes a dedicated golf swing analysis workflow using four IMU sensors. The system automatically detects swing events and generates a kinematic sequence report, helping coaches and clinicians evaluate how energy transfers through the body during the swing.

This new workflow simplifies setup and delivers clear insights into segment timing, coordination, and posture, enabling more objective feedback for performance training and movement optimization.

Key capabilities

  • Automated swing detection
  • Kinematic sequence visualization
  • Coordinated segment timing & peak velocity analysis
  • X-factor & posture angle analysis
  • Simplified setup using a 4-sensor configuration

Manus Glove Integration for Hand & Finger Animation

Capture Fine Motor Movement in MR4

MR now supports a complete integration of the MANUS motion capture gloves, enabling detailed finger articulation to be visualized on the Movi 3D avatar along with signal streams for 20 anatomical angles per hand.

This integration brings realistic hand and finger animation into MR, expanding motion capture capabilities for applications that require fine motor analysis, hand coordination assessment, or immersive motion visualization.

Key capabilities

  • Real-time finger articulation visualization & signal streaming
  • Full hand animation on the Movi avatar
  • Compatible with MANUS glove systems
  • Improved visualization for detailed motion capture scenarios

Expanded Horizontal Jump & Cutting Analysis

Additional Movements for Sports Performance Testing

MR now automatically detects additional horizontal jump and cutting tasks, expanding analysis capabilities for sports performance and rehabilitation.

New supported movements include:

  • Broad Jump
  • Lateral Countermovement Jump
  • Deceleration Test

These additions allow practitioners to analyze a wider range of explosive horizontal and change-of-direction movements using the same streamlined jump analysis workflows already available in MR.

Platform & Workflow Enhancements

Enhanced Virtual Calibration Adjustment Tool (vCAT) Workflow

The Virtual Calibration Adjustment Tool (vCAT) has been expanded and optimized to improve the calibration adjustment user experience and results.

Enhancements include improved correction handling, expanded calibration routines, and automatic processing improvements that make it easier to achieve accurate results in challenging measurement setups.

Improvements include

  • Improved compatibility with optimizer corrections
  • Expanded calibration workflows and routines
  • Improved markerless frontal correction for flexed positions
  • Automatic detection of markerless processing triggers

Force Vector Angles as Signals

Force vector angles can now be generated directly as signals within MR, allowing users to analyze force direction changes over time alongside other biomechanical signals.

This enables deeper analysis of movement mechanics during tasks such as jumping, cutting, and landing.

Object Sensors in Translation Toolbox

The Translation Toolbox now supports object sensors, allowing motion data from tracked equipment or external objects to be incorporated into biomechanical analyses.

This expands the ability to analyze subject-object interactions and movement coordination.

EMG Streaming via UDP During Playback

EMG data can now be streamed via UDP during playback, allowing previously recorded data to be transmitted to external software environments such as visualization engines or custom analysis tools.

Simplified Signal Overlay in Curve Reports

Curve report elements now support simplified overlay of multiple signals within a single graph, making it easier to compare biomechanical signals directly in report outputs.

Shared Database Duplicate Subject Prevention

MR now includes safeguards that help prevent duplicate subject records from being created when working with shared databases.

This improvement helps maintain cleaner datasets and reduces administrative overhead when managing multi-user environments.

Period Selection for Angle Coordination Reports

Angle Coordination report elements now allow users to select the analysis period used in the report, providing greater flexibility when evaluating coordination patterns during different phases of movement.

Pre-Contact Phase Fully Integrated into Jump Analysis Period Definition

Jump and cutting analysis workflows now integrate the pre-contact phase directly into the jump analysis period definition, treating it as part of the unified jump activity. By doing so, users will be able to view pre-contact data seamlessly alongside all other phases—improving the clarity of temporal context, facilitating overall movement interpretation, and ensuring the complete jump sequence is accessible in all analysis modes.

The Spring 2026 Release continues to expand MR4 with new analysis tools, deeper integrations, and workflow improvements designed to support real-world biomechanics applications. These updates further strengthen MR4 as a unified platform for capturing, analyzing, and understanding human movement.
