Default Installation Behavior
When upgrading from MR 4.2 to MR 4.2026, the installer will automatically install the software to a new file path:
C:Program FilesNoraxonMR 4.2026
If installed to this new location, MR 4.2026 will appear as a separate installation from MR 4.2. In this case, users will need to:
- Transfer databases, protocols, and reports between versions (refer to 👉MR4 Upgrade Guide)
- Reconfigure hardware settings in Hardware Setup
Installing Over the Existing MR 4.2 Installation (Optional)
If you prefer to upgrade directly over the MR 4.2 installation, follow these steps:
NOTE: Before installing MR 4.2026 over MR 4.2 in this way, check to ensure you are eligible to activate MR 4.2026 with your MR license via our MR Maintenance Status Check Tool, below.
1. During installation, change the destination path from:
C:Program FilesNoraxonMR 4.2026 to C:Program FilesNoraxonMR 4.2
2. The installer will warn that a version already exists in this location.
Confirm that you want to continue and install to this folder.
3. After installation is complete, navigate to:
C:Program FilesNoraxon
4. Rename the folder MR 4.2 to MR 4.2026.
Renaming the folder ensures that future MR 4.2026 updates install correctly and follow the expected directory structure.
