Ultium EMG Getting Started Guide

This page will guide you through the first steps of setting up the Ultium EMG system and recording your first measurements.

Intro to EMG

This video offers an initial explanation of the EMG signal, as well as processing and analysis techniques.

System Unboxing & Setup

  • Install the MR software.
  • Plug in & set up the EMG system in the MR software.
  • Learn how to assign sensors to muscles and start a measurement.
  • For more detailed setup images, view the Ultium EMG Quick Start Guideđź”—.

Using SmartLeads?

If you have compatible Ultium EMG SmartLeads (e.g., insoles, accelerometer, goniometer, linear force, etc), ensure they are connected to the Ultium EMG sensors before detecting sensors in the Hardware Setup.

Connect the SmartLead to the Ultium sensor. The Ultium sensor LED will flash purple when a SmartLead is connected, and orange when the SmartLead isdisconnected.

Click Detect Sensors in Chargers and the SmartLead will be listed with the SmartLead serial number, not the Ultium sensor serial number.

Note: If the software does not recognize the SmartLead, the sensors may require a firmware update.

Click OK to save the hardware settings.
