EMG Lead Replacement

     Noraxon does not repair and return the same damaged or non functional EMG leads back to the customer. Instead, existing Noraxon customers can exchange their damaged or non functional EMG leads for equivalent refurbished ones. Refurbished EMG leads are available at a reduced price of $150USD per lead. To qualify for this lower price customers must return their non functional leads to Noraxon on a one-for-one numerical basis. Returned leads must also be in a condition to allow recycling. Once replacement leads are sent Noraxon requires the customer's cooperation in returning their non functional EMG leads in a timely manner. A two (2) week grace period is extended for completion of returns. Customers will be separately charged the full list price for each lead that is not returned.

EMG Lead Types

     Noraxon supplies four (4) different types of active leads for EMG measurements. Each of the four EMG leads types is available with two styles of terminations. The terminal attachment to disposable electrodes can be either the traditional snap (button) style or the pinch (alligator clip) style. The snap and pinch terminal ends are interchangeable and can be freely mixed (e.g. 3 snap and 5 pinch leads on an 8 channel system). If preferred the customer can replace a snap for pinch lead and vice versa. Customers are responsible for identifying the type(s) of refurbished EMG leads they require.

     Functionally Noraxon's EMG leads fall into two categories: standard and clinical. Standard leads have a specified gain of 500 and a 10 Hz high pass cutoff frequency to satisfy ISEK recommendations. Clinical leads have a specified gain of 1000 and a 20 Hz high pass cutoff frequency. The Standard EMG leads are normally used on MyoSystem 1400A/L and TeleMyo 2400T instruments. The Clinical EMG leads are normally used on MyoTrace 400 instruments. Customers should be aware that mixing Standard and Clinical EMG leads on the same EMG instrument can result in erratic behavior. Proper performance is possible only when all Standard or all Clinical EMG leads are used at the same time.

Terms and Conditions

     All refurbished EMG lead types are subject to availability. Customers will be informed if certain lead types are not available when their request is received. In such cases Noraxon will suggest an appropriate alternative.

     Noraxon will ship the requested quantity of refurbished EMG leads once payment has been arranged. The customer agrees to return to Noraxon the same quantity of leads for exchange within 2 weeks of the date that Noraxon ships the replacements. If the proper number of returned leads is not received within the allotted grace period, Noraxon reserves the right to bill the customer an amount equal to the full list price of all refurbished EMG leads that were shipped.
